A Breastfeeding Awareness Programme was conducted at the Kavaraipetti Near Panchayat Office as part of breastfeeding celebration organized by Vel Nursing College for 100-days employment scheme workers and the general public. The event aimed to educate the community on the benefits of breastfeeding, proper techniques, and the need for family support
Vel Nursing College students was parcipated at Raja Sir Ramadamy Mudaliyar (RSRM) Hospital. A unique and engaging event was held to promote breastfeeding through mime and poetry. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of breastfeeding,break down societal barriers and encourage supportive environments for nursing mothers. which was conducted on 07.08.2025

The DNS mam, along with faculties Mrs. Rexy, Mrs. Priya, and Mrs. Bakiyalakshmi VNC, led the students on a comprehensive tour of the hospital.
Fire extinguisher mock drill conducted by the Marena Rescue Team at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH). The drill was organized to enhance awareness and preparedness for fire emergencies, and the students actively engaged in the safety procedures demonstrated during the sessions
Awareness Walkathon conducted by Vel Nursing College, VISTAS on 2nd August 2025 in observance of World Breastfeeding Week, Over 100 B.Sc. Nursing students and faculty members participated in the event, which began at Janapanchatram Junction and concluded at Siddhi Vinayakar Temple, Alinjivakkam. The walkathon was inaugurated and addressed by Dr. Sathesh Dev, Deputy Medical Superintendent, Vels Medical College & Hospital; Dr. J. Hemamalini, Principal, Vel Nursing College; Mr. Ezhilan, Traffic Inspector, Red Hills; Mr. Gnanasambandhan, Sub-Inspector, Red Hills Traffic Police; and Mr. Bhaskar, Sub-Inspector, Sholavaram.
The valedictory ceremony featured esteemed guest, including Dr. K. Suresh Assistant professor, Department of English, Vistas; along with Dr. Hemamalini, Principal mam and Prof. Ramya, Vice-principal mam. They praised the students efforts and emphasized the importance of breastfeeding and sustainable support systems.
On August 6th, 2025, a flash mob was conducted by the students of Vel Nursing College at Periyapalayam bus stand to raise public awareness about the importance of breastfeeding. A total of 20 nursing students enthusiastically participated in the event.
